Kasrawad Art Handloom Cluster

Kasrawad Art Handloom Cluster has its historic importance since the 5th century .a small town situated on the banks of river Narmada in the khargone district of Madhya Pradesh in India which is a hub of more than 2500 weavers actively engaged in the practice of traditional weaving of the beautiful elegant drape .

The handloom saree and fabric composition usually used here is 18/20 - 20/22D silk  and 2/80 - 2/120s cotton yarn which gives the fabric its soft feel .

The Kasrawad Art Handloom Cluster is known for its authentic weaves which are handwoven with silk cotton yarn and zari or brocade in varied design especially in the borders which replicates the design inscribed on the walls of the maheshwar fort .The fabric is mainly used in designing Maheshwari Sarees, other than dupattas and dress materials .

The average saree takes around 2-3 days to be woven and the dupattas take around a day to be completed. Which also depends on the design of the borders and pallu.

The Kasrawad Art Handloom Cluster is being preferrred by the working women in modern times due to its extreme rich texture , borders and soft feel which makes it a royal choice.
