To work towards addressing the financial and non – financial issues of MSME clusters in India, SIDBI has carried out studies in 30 MSME clusters hindering availability of adequate and timely institutional credit, infrastructure and marketing gaps and lack of support services affecting the growth and competitiveness of these clusters. SIDBI has identified 5 gaps which are common to most of the clusters (a) Skill Development Gap, (b) Infrastructure Gap, (c) Knowledge Gap, (d) Credit Gap & (e) Policy Advocacy. As a precursor to the detailed interventions covering all gaps, SIDBI has started a short tem Cluster Level Intervention Programme (CLIP) covering 2 common gap areas i.e. (i) Knowledge and (ii) Skill Development Gap.
- 50 cluster units have been made aware of SIDBI schemes, CGTMSE, NMCP for quality up-gradation, market development and working capital requirements. A knowledge capsule is being created in document form and has been distributed to units in cluster.
- 30 unit of cluster has been made aware about importance of Personal Protective Equipment and Occupation Health and Safety.
- 40 workers has not only been aware about the working of latest model of electrical tufting gun but also they know about the maintenance and repairing of machine. This will address the issue of lack of availability of skilled man force in the cluster. Result in to increase in productivity level significantly.
