1. Promoting Integrated Bamboo based Enterprise Development among SAARC Countries

About Project: To promote bamboo based enterprises for income generation and employment opportunities across harvesting to production and then marketing. The development model is based on identification of key stakeholders and their key challenges across the value chain. The creation of sustainable high value economic opportunities will directly improve the quality of life for farmers, artisans, micro & small enterprises, designers, traders and exporters. The project mainly focuses on 4 categories of products: Handicraft, Furniture, Housing & Construction and lifestyle products. The project activities mainly include pre-implementation activities such as baseline surveys, establishment of a near-source common facility centre (CFC), training on bamboo production, harvesting and post-harvest processing, design and product development, skill based trainings i.e. training of trainers and skilling of artisans, enhancing market and finance access.

About Project: The overall objective of the project is to promote bamboo as a sustainable resource and generate green jobs. The Action is designed to help local community and other stakeholders collaborate for the promotion of green economy, sustainable growth, economic prosperity and poverty reduction in India along with mitigation of climate change. The deliverables planned for the project are:
• Support enterprise development for sustainable supply of bamboo products and generate improved livelihoods.
• Create Market Linkages for high potential products.
• Strengthen local governance system and intermediaries
• Facilitate financial linkages
• Strengthen policy dialogue and dissemination of proven development models of bamboo sector.
This project has a strong research component focussing on mapping and selection of clusters, conducting baseline studies, Diagnostic Studies & Value chain assessment, preparation of business plans for enterprises, learning papers and policy briefs. These activities will be undertaken to get the overall understanding of the sector to contribute significantly in promoting these enterprises and improving their livelihood.

About Project: The project promotes usage of foundry generated solid waste, i.e. slag in manufacturing of Paver Blocks as a complete replacement of mined natural aggregates. The mandate of the project is to support establishment of 40 new enterprises which manufactures paver blocks from slag and upgrade 10 existing paver block manufacturing enterprises to upgrade the technology for using slag as a raw material. The project will generate employment for 400 people and upgrade skills of another 100 people.

About Project: The LMCS (Lean Manufacturing Competitiveness Scheme) of MoMSME (Ministry of MSME), Government of India aims at improving the productivity, competitiveness & quality of MSMEs in India. This scheme aims at increasing the overall productivity of MSMEs by focusing on reduction/Elimination of industrial wastes, and implementing resource efficiency by reducing operating costs.FMC is an empanelled lean consultant with NPC and QCI. We work with the MSME clusters to form Lean groups and implement lean practices. This scheme grants a total of Rs 36 lacs (maximum) per cluster for a maximum duration of 18 months.

10. Technical Agency for Coir Board, NIMSME and KVIC under the revamped SFURTI Scheme in Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, AP and Telangana

About Project:We are the empanelled Technical Agent of KVIC and Coir Board. We are preparing value chain led diagnosis and creating/created action plan for implementation and detailed project report for creation of common infrastructure. Work is ongoing in over 30 clusters consisting of various village industries, coir and khadi products. The contract is open ended and is linked to total value of Project implementation. Till now studies have been completed in 20 clusters and implementation is ongoing in 5 clusters. Detailed marketing, market promotion and training plans have been worked out in 20 clusters (which are at various stages of approval) and are being implemented in 5 clusters. Once implemented, a total of 10,000 artisans will get benefitted from the 20 clusters.

11. Empanelled Project Management Consultant (PMC) with Government of West Bengal to promote MSMEs

About Project: We are Project Management Consultant of ongoing Cluster Development Programme in West Bengal since December 2013. In the last 3 years FMC has undertake 32 value chain led feasibility studies for 32 new clusters in different sectors i.e. clay & ceramics, brass & bell metal, metal fabrication & furniture, jewellery products, fibre based products, automobile servicing, readymade garments, wooden furniture etc. and identified their key challenges in market promotion, existing business process of the cluster, assessment of the value chain of the cluster product, identify the needs through field level survey in the cluster, prepare action plans and suggest short and long term interventions of the clusters for its socio-economic development. FMC is rendering its service to 4 district industries centre in implementation of soft intervention activities of worth 72 lakhs in 6 clusters. Apart from that FMC is rendering PMC services to Siliguri Storage Battery Cluster Services (SPV) in implementation of hard intervention i.e. establishment of common facility centre in Darjeeling district, the project cost is 936Lakh. FMC also guides Burdwan Rice Mill Cluster association in DPR preparation and sanction of the CFC project of 1670 lakhs. FMC has prepared need based detailed project report for shellac cluster in Purulia district and will give project management services to the cluster.
