8th FMC Award for Responsible BMOs (Thematic Area: Textiles and Apparel), in Partnership with CITI

Manufacturing and Services units are often represented by industry associations and chambers of commerce, also known as Business Membership Organizations (BMOs). BMOs play a pivotal role in providing business-related services that enhance the competitiveness of their members and non-members alike. BMOs are also contributing significantly by promoting responsible business practices that addresses (a) Environmental challenges including India’s Net Zero targets of reducing carbon intensity by 45% from 2005 levels by 2030 and (b) Social aspects including promoting decent and safe work environment, labour rights, equal pay, gender equality, employment.

Given that industry accounts for 20% of India’s 4 billion tonnes of CO2e emissions annually, and with textiles and apparel comprising 42% of Indian MSMEs, the 8th FMC (Foundation for MSME Clusters) Award for Responsible BMOs is requesting BMOs representing Textiles and Apparel Industry and their value chain partners (manufacturers, service providers, and traders) to apply for this Award.
